What is a trademark in Iran?

In Iran, a trademark identifies and distinguishes industrial, commercial, or agricultural products through designs, images, words, expressions, seals, covers, and similar elements. Businesses use trademarks as a form of intellectual property to protect their brand identity and ensure market recognition.

Since joining the Madrid Protocol in 2003, Iran has made it easier for trademark owners to expand their registrations internationally. A registered trademark in Iran grants its owner the exclusive right to use it and prevents third parties from using or copying it without permission.
